Rockport, TX Fishing Report – October 27–29, 2026

Speckled trout are leading the charge in Rockport this week, and the best shot at a stacked cooler lands on Wednesday, October 28. Local guide reports from October 20-24 describe a fired-up trout bite, steady redfish and flounder, and a cooler-weather pattern that has fish active. It’s a Good bite: ROCKPORT IS BITING.

**Conditions:** Expect east winds of 7-10 mph Tuesday, 5-11 mph Wednesday and 7-14 mph Thursday with afternoon gusts near 20, so Thursday afternoon gets bumpy. Showers and thunderstorms are possible all three days, heaviest Tuesday morning. No marine advisories were posted in the forecasts we reviewed. The moon is a 97% waning gibbous, bright and close to full.

**Best windows:** Wednesday, 2:38-4:38 PM is the primary solunar window, with smooth water and the best weather of the week. Thursday, 10:46 AM-12:16 PM is the backup, before the afternoon breeze builds.

**The Big Three:** Speckled trout are the stars; work grass flats and guts around Copano Bay and Aransas Bay with live shrimp under a popping cork or soft plastics. Redfish are a steady Fair, so try cut mullet or dead shrimp along shorelines in Redfish Bay and Mesquite Bay. Flounder are starting to show on drop-offs and channel edges near Aransas Bay and Copano Bay with finger mullet or soft plastics.

**Also active:** Black drum and sheepshead are around reefs and structure on dead shrimp.
