Rockport, TX Fishing Report – October 17–19, 2026

Redfish are leading the charge on the Rockport coast this fall, and the strongest opportunity lines up right as a cold front blows through and the bays settle down. Saturday opens windy, with north winds of 11 to 21 mph and gusts near 32 mph under mostly sunny skies. Sunday eases to 8 to 11 mph, and Monday is lighter still out of the north-northeast, with highs climbing toward 81. The Wind Advisory ends early Saturday, and no advisories are listed for the weekend, though Saturday gusts deserve respect.

**Best windows:** Sunday morning, 6:23 to 8:23 AM, pairs the moon underfoot with calmer air after the front. Monday morning, 7:10 to 9:10 AM, is the next best, with the lightest breeze of the stretch.

**Redfish** are the headliner, working flats and marsh drains around Redfish Bay and Copano Bay with cut mullet, live shrimp, and gold spoons. **Speckled trout** are fair, with grass edges near deeper water around Aransas Bay and Copano Bay holding the best shots on soft plastics and popping corks. **Flounder** are starting to move in along shorelines and drains near Aransas Bay and Corpus Christi Bay, so keep finger mullet handy.

Also active: black drum around deeper channel edges and sheepshead near structure.
