Rockport, TX Fishing Report – October 13–15, 2026

Redfish are the headline in Rockport this week, and the strongest shot comes Thursday evening, right before Friday’s wind shift. Anglers have been stacking solid reds on the flats for days, and the bite looks set to carry through Tuesday to Thursday, October 13–15.

**Conditions:** Bay water is a comfortable 83°F. Winds run southeast at 10–15 knots all three days, gusting to 20 on Wednesday, with slightly to occasionally choppy bays and no marine advisories for the bays. Tuesday carries a slight chance of afternoon storms, so fish the morning. A thin waxing crescent moon (about 6–20% lit) keeps solunar pull modest but useful.

**Best windows:** Thursday, 4:17–6:17 PM is the primary pick: the moon is overhead and winds ease ahead of the front. Tuesday, 9:38–11:08 AM is the backup, a moonrise window that beats the afternoon storm chance.

**The Big Three:** Redfish (Very Good) are working the grass flats of Redfish Bay and Copano Bay on live shrimp, cut mullet and gold spoons. Speckled trout (Fair) hold on grassy potholes and drop-offs in Aransas Bay and Copano Bay; try live shrimp under a popping cork. Flounder (Fair) sit along channel edges near Aransas Pass and Rockport Harbor, best on finger mullet.

**Also active:** Black drum are Good on dead shrimp over the reefs, and sheepshead are Fair around pilings.
