Rockport, TX Fishing Report – October 8–10, 2026

Redfish lead the Coastal Bend this week, and the strongest shot at a stringer comes Saturday, October 10, when northeast winds finally relax. Fall is prime time on the Rockport flats, and this is a bite worth planning around.

**Conditions:** Northeast winds run 10–15 knots Thursday and Friday with afternoon gusts near 20, so expect choppy bays. Friday brings a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Saturday settles to 5–10 knots and smooth to slightly choppy water. No marine advisories were posted at issuance. Tides are small, with highs near 0.7 ft and lows near 0.5 ft.

**Best windows:** Saturday, 12:15–2:15 PM is the top pick, pairing the midday moon-overhead window with the calmest wind of the stretch. Thursday, 5:07–6:37 PM around moonset is the backup. The moon is a waning crescent heading to new, so nights are dark and daytime windows do the work.

**The Big Three:** Redfish should be working shallow shorelines and marsh edges around Copano Bay, Redfish Bay and Aransas Bay. Speckled trout should hold on grass flats and drop-offs in Aransas and Copano Bay. Flounder are starting their fall push along channel edges and the Rockport shoreline.

**Also active:** Black drum on deeper holes with live or dead shrimp, and sheepshead around pilings and jetty rocks.
