## Rockport, TX Fishing Report – September 8–10, 2026

Rockport is biting this Tuesday through Thursday, and redfish lead the way — eating cut mullet up shallow along the grass lines early, then giving sight-casters a shot on 2-foot shorelines once the sun climbs.

Aransas Bay water is 88.9°F at the NOAA Rockport gauge. Winds stay light all three days: Tuesday southeast 5–10 mph, Wednesday calm to southeast 5–9 mph with a 30% chance of late-morning storms, Thursday southeast 5–9 mph. Bays run smooth to a light chop with no marine advisories.

The moon is a thin waning crescent sliding into Thursday night’s new moon. Tuesday’s primary solunar window, 10:25 AM to 12:25 PM, rides the incoming tide under the moon overhead. Thursday’s 5:52 to 7:22 AM window puts moonrise right at sunrise on the new-moon day — the strongest bite of the week.

Redfish (Good): cut mullet along the grass lines of Redfish Bay, the Aransas Bay back lakes and Estes Flats, then gold spoons and soft plastics mid-morning. Speckled Trout (Good): first light over grass edges in Aransas Bay, Copano Bay’s reefs and the Corpus Christi Bay flats with live shrimp under a popping cork or topwaters. Flounder (Fair): staging on channel edges along the Lydia Ann Channel, Aransas Pass and Redfish Bay drains.

Also active: black drum are eating shrimp off channel edges, and sheephead are a steady bonus around jetty rocks and pilings.
